Why we built around 20 minutes a day
Most adult learners don’t fail because they can’t put in a hard hour. They fail because the hour doesn’t come back tomorrow.
The case for short and daily
Spaced practice produces better long-term retention than massed practice for almost every motor skill that has been studied — and pronunciation is a motor skill. Twenty minutes a day for sixty days beats two hours a day for ten days, in the literature and in our pilot.
What that means for the product
You’ll notice the free tier caps daily practice at 60 minutes combined. That isn’t an upsell trick. It’s because 20–40 minutes is the right dose for most people, and we’d rather you come back tomorrow than burn out today.
